Susan Collis is an artist that has a sculptural background, that plays with the unseen and valuable. She took part Craft council exhibit at the V&A showing embroidered dust sheets and inlayed tables. I enjoyed her work an thought it was interesting how she has developed along the same thoughts and what she makes herself and what she collaborates with other craftsman on.
Edmund de Waal is a ceramic instillation artist and a writer. His lecture was so complex in content ranging from his new book which looks at a collection of Japanese Netski that has been passed through his family. He is interested in Layering memories within object and using formats used in books and translating them to gallery spaces. He incorporates footnotes into his exhibits so that lead work is there but cannot be fully seem by the viewer.
David Clark was a noted silversmith until he diversified into using lead and more conceptual pieces and pushing boundaries previously not crossed in the silver world. His knowledge of the material allows him to experiment, he uses brought objects and adapts they shape often incorporating lead. I particularly liked his most recent work where he drops his pieces out of the window, which causes interesting distortions.
